Old carpet and prefinished hardwood were removed, then new 4¼-inch red oak was installed throughout the main level with seamless transitions and custom flush vents. We sanded, stained and finished the entire floor using on-site UV curing. From furniture out to furniture back in, the complete transformation took just 13 business days.
Before curing, the finish contains urethane-acrylate chains with reactive ends, along with light-sensitive photoinitiators. The coating is carefully applied and allowed to dry before professional UV curing begins.
When calibrated ultraviolet light reaches the dried coating, its photoinitiators activate. This begins the rapid chemical reaction that transforms separate components within the finish into a connected protective structure.
Reactive bonds open and connect neighboring chains, forming a tightly cross-linked three-dimensional network. This is the science behind the finish’s immediate final hardness after UV curing and its resistance to wear and household chemicals.
This visualization connects the molecular science to the floor itself. After the coating has dried, professional UV equipment passes over the surface and cures the finish. Once properly UV-cured, LOBA Rush reaches final hardness immediately—without a multi-day curing period inside your home.
The completed molecular network becomes the floor’s protective layer: a commercial-durability, extremely low-emission finish designed for real homes, pets, furniture, high traffic, and everyday life.
